Conference on New Data Linkages

The NSF Social Observatories Coordinating Network is sponsoring a conference to bring together the researchers involved in different regional data collection and linking efforts to
- promote synergies across projects,
- explore what types of issues have arisen that could be facilitated by a regional system of data centers, and
- evaluate whether these different data collection nodes, with some financial incentives, would be able and willing to cooperate.
The call for papers was issued this Spring (2015) across a number of academic disciplines, including :
- demography
- sociology
- economic
- psychology
- anthropology
- geography
- hazards and environment risk
- political science
- statistics
Through this call we have gathered 10 different research teams to discuss their work and explore potential collaborations across these projects. In addition to the PIs from these projects we are inviting members of the SOCN and other guests from NIH, NSF, and foundations to serve as discussants.
